Learn - Forming our faith
Parishes are communities of faith, of action, and of hope. They are where the Gospel is proclaimed and celebrated, where believers are formed and sent to renew the earth. Life-long religious education in the parish fosters growth in a wider faith community and helps children and adults better understand Catholic teaching, experience spontaneous and formal prayer, prayerful silence, and simple acts of worship.

A catechism is a text which contains the fundamental Christian truths formulated in a way that facilitates their understanding. It is an organized presentation of the essential teachings of the Catholic Church in regards to both faith and morals. But the catechism is not meant to stand alone as the only reference for Catholic teaching. It only contains small sections of the actual documents it references. The church’s rich tradition, the Bible, and liturgy all illuminate each other and help us grow in faith, hope, and love.
